Raw Banana Stir Fry


  • 2 Plantain/ Raw Banana
  • 1 Big Onion (Chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
  • 2 cloves Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 Green chilli (slit)
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 Dry Red Chilli
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Oil (Coconut oil/ Vegetable  oil)


  1. Peel the skin of the raw banana. Wash it and chop it into small chunks.
  2. Place the chopped bananas in bowl of cold water to prevent it from changing colour.
  3. Heat Oil in a pan, pop mustard seeds.
  4. Add the chopped onion , garlic, dry chilly and curry leaves. Sauté for a few minutes.
  5. Now add in chopped raw banana and stir well.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt as required, sauté and fry well.
  7. Sprinkle some water, cover the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  8. Remove from flame and serve this delicious Raw Banana Stir Fry with rice or chappati.
