Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Chicken (cut into medium pieces)
- 1 Onion (sliced)
- 1 Tomatoes (chopped)
- 5 Garlic pods (chopped)
- 1″ Ginger (chopped)
- 2 Green chillies (slit)
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 2-3 Dry red chillies
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/3 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Kashmiri Chilli powder
- 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tbsp Garam masala
- 1 Bay leaf
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil
Method
- Heat oil in a pan and add in bay leaf and cumin seeds, let it crackle. Then add chopped ginger and garlic, saute for a minute. Add in the sliced onions, fry till it turns light brown.
- Add in the green chillies, curry leaves, dry red chillies, saute for 2 minutes.
- Now, add turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder and saute for a minute on low flame.
- Mix in the chicken pieces, put the lid on and cook the chicken till it’s well done (about 15 minutes).
- Open the lid, add in chopped tomatoes and garam masala and mix it in well on high heat. Chicken chukka is ready to serve!
