Simple and delicious mini doughnuts coated with cinnamon and sugar, these are perfect bites of heaven to enjoy with your cup of coffee or hot chocolate. These little treats are baked and not fried, so one less thing to feel guilty about and a lot easier to make.
Baked Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts
Ingredients
- 13/4 cup Plain flour
- 11/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 11/4 cup Milk
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 large Eggs
For the cinnamon sugar topping
- 5 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 C. Grease the doughnut tray with melted butter.
- Into a large bowl, sift in flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg.
- In a another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs and butter. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, gently fold the batter to combine.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared baking tray. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Transfer the doughnuts onto a wire rack.
- Combine sugar and cinnamon in bowl and set it aside. Melt 3 tbsp of butter. Dip each doughnut in the melted butter and then in the cinnamon sugar mix. Shake off the excess and place on the serving plate to enjoy!
