‘Aam Jal Jeera’ are Hindi words and the literal translation means ‘Mango cumin water’. This traditional Indian summer drink, is filled with digestive properties and has a sweet and tangy flavour. It is a refreshing drink to dim the heat of the summer and any day a healthier option than having carbonated drinks.
- 1 big Raw mango
- 1 cup Water
- 3/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 inch Ginger
- ½ tsp Black Salt
- 6 Mint leaves
- Peel off the skin of the mangoes and chop them roughly. Add the chopped mangoes to the pressure cooker with
- 1 cup of water. Cook till one whistle is blown.
- Heat a pan and add cumin seeds to it. Roast the cumin seeds for 2 minutes and crush them roughly.
- Once the pressure cooker cools down open the lid and transfer the entire contents to a mixer/grinder. Add ice cubes, ½ tsp. crushed cumin seeds, sugar, black salt, mint leaves and water to it and grind it well. Refreshingly delicious Raw Mango Jaljeera is ready to be served!
