Ingredients
  • Ox Liver
  • Onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 inch Ginger (minced)
  • 4 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 4 Green chillies (slit)
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder + 1/2 tsp
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups Thin coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup Thick coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 cup Water
  • Oil
Directions
  • Step 1 Pressure cook the liver along with a cup of water and turmeric powder for 20-25 minutes on low heat.
  • Step 2 Once the liver is cooked, cut them into 2 inch strips. Keep aside the leftover broth.
  • Step 3 Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add ginger and garlic and saute for a minute. Add sliced onions, green chillies and curry leaves, saute till the onions turn translucent.
  • Step 4 Stir in spice powders and a tablespoon of water, saute for a minute till a nice aroma is released.
  • Step 5 Add in cooked liver, leftover broth, vinegar and thin coconut milk. Season with salt, mix well and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  • Step 6 Open the lid and pour in half a cup of thick coconut milk. Mix well and turn of the heat. Serve hot with rice, appam or bread.
