Filled with autumn flavours of cinnamon, apples and dates, this baked treat tastes is heavenly, especially when you top them with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream! And instead of dates you can try baking them with dried cranberries, dried apricots or raisins – they’ll taste just as delicious.

Ingredients
- 100 g Dates
- 3 Apples
- 50 g Walnuts
- 100 g Light brown sugar
- 170 g Plain flour
- 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
- 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Ground clove
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 40 g Melted unsalted butter
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Honey
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat the oven to 200 C and grease an 8 inch square tin.
- Step 2 Remove the pit of dates and chop them to small bits.
- Step 3 Peel, core and dice the apples. And chop the walnuts to small bits as well.
- Step 4 In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients until well combined.
- Step 5 Pour the mixture into the greased tin. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
